Everyone’s participation is needed! We need everyone to participate in this year’s fundraising event in order to continue to provide quality services and programs to our amazing children. Sponsorship and Solicitation letters were emailed to all families. If you need extras, let Elizabeth Ewers know.

After the Thanksgiving break, a “Basket Theme” signup sheet will be posted on the parent info board. Please mark next to your family’s name the theme of your basket. All family basket themes need to be listed on the sign-up sheet by December 19th. Don’t forget to talk up our fundraising event during your family gatherings.

Fundraising Here We Come!

School Reach Information
Linden Grove School uses a telephone broadcast system that enables school personnel to notify all households and parents by phone within minutes of an emergency or unplanned event that causes early dismissal, school cancellation or late start. This service is provided by School Reach, a company specializing in school-to-parent communications. Linden Grove will also broadcast school closings and delays due to inclement weather on WLWT Channel 5 and will use this system as an overlay to the public announcements.

When used, the service will simultaneously call all listed phone numbers in our parent contact list and will deliver a recorded message from Linda Hart, Principal of Administration. The service will deliver the message to both live answer and answering machines. No answers and busies will be automatically retried twice in fifteen minute intervals after the initial call.

Caller ID: The Caller ID will display 513-984-2215, which is the main number for Linden Grove School.
Live Answers: There is a short pause at the beginning of the message, usually just a few seconds. Answer your phone as you normally would; “hello” and hold for the message to begin. Multiple “hello’s” will delay the message. Inform all family members of this process who may answer your phone of this process.
Answering Machines: The system will detect that your machine has answered and will play the recording to your machine. The maximum number of rings before hang-up is five. Make sure your machine answers after four rings or you may miss the message.
Message Repeat: At the end of the message you will be prompted to ‘press one’ to hear the message again. This is very helpful when a child answers the phone and hands it to a parent, who can then ‘repeat’ the message in its entirety.

Thanksgiving Break
There will be no school on November 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th. School will resume on Monday, December 1st. Please note there will be morning- and after-care services on Monday, November 24th.

Save the Date
Mom’s Night Out will be on December 4th starting at 6:30pm at LGS and there’s more information to come.

Winter Weather & Outdoor Recess
During the colder months, our policy is that the children will have recess outside as long as the temperature is 25 degrees (including the wind chill) or above and the weather is not inclement. The decision to go outside or stay in for recess is made on a daily basis. Because of this, all students should be prepared to go outside for recess every day. Please make sure that your child has appropriate clothing (jacket/hat/gloves/scarf/etc.) to play outside. It is recommended that you put your child’s name or initials somewhere on these articles of clothing as they can be easily misplaced. If the decision is made to have outdoor recess, all students will have to go outside. Not having the appropriate clothing is not a reason to stay inside. Please make sure your child understands this rule if they insist on wearing non-traditional winter clothing to school. If you any questions, please contact Elizabeth Ewers.
