That was the reaction among returning students and family members at LGS’s recent Open House.
The most obvious change to LGS is the use of the building’s front door on Myrtle Avenue as the school’s main entrance, as well as a new and expanded main office.
Also new is the addition of a sensory room to the building’s first floor across from the K-2 team classrooms. With its inclusion of a foam crash pit and other equipment and supplies, the room was quickly dubbed the “funnest room in the school” by an LGS student.
Familiar to returning students and families are the SmartBoards and iPads among the classrooms, as well as favorite books, LEGO™ kits and—of course—LGS’s dedicated staff members.
So what’s blue?
Classroom walls through the school as well as the first-floor hallway are repainted in serene shades of blue.
