As part of their Art Around the World unit, 2-4 students learned about Rangoli art.
Rangoli is the art of drawing images and designs on the floor with colored sand, rice or flour. It is a form of folk art in India and stands as a sign of welcome and thought to bring good luck. The designs are geometric and proportioned, and can be any size ranging from the size of a doormat to covering an entire room!
Mrs. Hoffman’s students made their own Rangoli art on the floor using large sheets of white paper, glue, and colored salt.
We can’t wait to see where the students will “visit” next!
