Festival Rides Open without Sounds for LGS Students

Church festivals, amusement parks and county fairs can be overwhelming for students with autism.

That’s why LGS is grateful to Murray Brothers Amusements who, again this year, opened the St. Saviour Festival rides—without sound—to LGS students at the end of the Friday school day.

Students, siblings, parents and staff enjoyed a variety of rides together—from the fast spinning Sizzler and twirling tea cups, to the Rally Racers and friendly Farm Tractors. Kids and adults also had the opportunity to enjoy concessions ranging from snow cones to hot pretzels.

Pictures cannot adequately capture the smiles and laughter of LGS students enjoying festival rides without overwhelming crowds, sounds, and other sensations. Enjoying the rides with friends, parents, and teachers—those are memories for a lifetime!
