The first six weeks of a new school year is a period for introductions and establishing expectations.
Students are introduced to staff and classmates, as well as their classrooms and the entire school environment. Students are given time to explore resources – including classroom quiet corners, playground equipment, sensory supplies, and more – and to learn how to use them and care for them.
During the final week of Linden Grove School’s Summer Camp, activities leveraged the “Power of Play” to encourage positive social interactions and communications, as well as creative thinking, role playing and imagination.
Linden Grove School Summer Camp’s animal-themed week is one of its most popular, and one its most valuable — especially this year thanks to a grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. The grant enabled the purchase of educational books and supplies, as well as in-house and community-based programs.
An LGS alum and parent encouraged basic skills and creativity in the kitchen as part of this year’s Summer Camp activities.

Ms. Wagner’s K-2 students have been learning about chemical reactions, using very colorful resources!
In one activity, students made playdough from flour, salt, water and oil, with a little food coloring to make it more fun!
Linden Grove School offers a variety of after-school clubs and activities throughout the year, ranging from robotics and music lessons, to swimming and its own scout group, Dingoes.
Taekwondo classes are offered at LGS through the Ahn Taekwondo Institute – a local martial arts school known for its quality instruction with a flare for FUN. Students will learn basic motions, forms and techniques while working on coordination, flexibility, listening, cooperation, and more. At the end of each term, students may also have the opportunity to test and rank up to the next color belt.
TouchMath is a multisensory math program designed to make math concepts easier and more accessible for students with different learning styles. The approach uses auditory, visual and tactile strategies for understanding numbers and operations.
