Animal Crafts with Texture

Miss Woebkenberg took advantage of Summer Camp’s animal-themed week to help her K-2 students develop their sense of touch with animal-themed crafts utilizing objects of different textures.

Sweet-looking cotton ball sheep are fluffy and cute!

The turtle craft had students tearing tissue paper and construction paper into small pieces and gluing them on to paper plates. Students then added construction paper feet, tail, head and – last but not least – googly eyes!

For their elephant scenes, students practiced their watercolor skills to create a background, and then sprinkled salt on the background for a unique effect, created when the salt “pulls” colored water into itself.

Thanks, Miss W, for some fun, animal-themed sensory crafts!
