Season-Inspired Learning

Teachers at all grade levels are taking advantage of colder temperatures and December holidays to inspire classroom activities and learning.

Some students are practicing fine motor skills and sequencing (the ability to put tasks in the correct order), by building marshmallow snowmen, stirring together reindeer food, making flavored popcorn treats, or building gingerbread houses.

Other are learning about history and cultures around the globe by reading about traditions and hands-on activities including how to play the dreidel game.

Still others are learning about cold climates and how the animals who live there adapt to their environment.

Seasonal class lessons are simply another example of how LGS staff see opportunities and possibilities in everything – and everyone – around them.
