Animatic Con: March 16-18, 2018
Animation and cosplay (costume) convention that works to raise funds for families with ASD. An anxiety-friendly event.

SALT & PEPA: Butler County Board of DD Services Overview: March 14, 2018
Students (ages 14 and up) attend their own series taking place the same time as the parents’ series. Students will participate in fun and interactive learning activities to help them prepare for the transition from school to adult life.

Scene 75 Special Needs Night: March 1, 2018
The program has been developed to help improve social and motor skills, hand and eye coordination, reaction time, and recognition… all in a safe, controlled and fun environment. First Thursday of every month.

Lazer Kraze Special Needs Night: March 1, 2018
Players with special needs can bring a friend or family member to play free laser tag or in the trampoline park with the purchase of their own paid admission. Available at Mason, Ohio, and Northern Kentucky locations. First Thursday of every month.

Charting The LifeCourse: The Power of the Portfolio: February 28, 2018
Free two-part session (Feb 21 & 28); must attend both to register. In second two-hour session, work and brainstorm with other families and professionals using the LifeCourse Trajectory, Star and One Page profile to begin to create a way to identify action steps from the vision and share the vision with others.

Cincinnati Art Museum Autism Family Exploration: February 24, 2018
Before public hours, explore a different gallery each month through multi-sensory learning centers. Led by specially trained docents. Except December, explorations are scheduled the 4th Saturday of each month through May.

Charting The LifeCourse: The Power of the Portfolio: February 21, 2018
Free two-part session (Feb 21 & 28); must attend both to register. First two-hour session will focus on how to help individuals and families of all ages develop a vision for good life. (Second session February 28)

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery Sensory Sunday: February 18, 2018
During special hours, the Museum will adjust lighting and sound, have trained volunteers and additional staff, and offer programs to appeal to families with children on the autism spectrum.

Students (ages 14 and up) attend their own series taking place the same time as the parents’ series. Students will participate in fun and interactive learning activities to help them prepare for the transition from school to adult life.

Strategies For Building Hygiene and Self-Care Skills In Boys with ASD/DD: February 13, 2018
Free two-hour session on appropriate developmental expectations for hygiene and self-care skills in school-aged and adolescent boys with ASD/DD and an overview of evidence-based strategies and supports for building these skills at home and generalizing them to other settings. Appropriate for parents and adolescents 12 and older.

How to Help Regulate Sensory Systems of Individuals with ASD/DD: February 12, 2018
Free two-hour session on common sensory sensitivities demonstrated by individuals with ASD/DD of all ages and practical strategies used to address these sensitivities.

Easing the Stress of Health Care, Introduction to Child Life and the Adaptive Care Team: January 31, 2018
Free two-hour session on strategies to help make healthcare easier for children who have developmental disabilities and special supports available at Cincinnati Children’s.

Girls’ Group Outing: January 28, 2018 (RSVP by January 26)
For girls and teens, an afternoon of spa-inspired fun such as nail painting and slime making!

Autism Society Greater Cincinnati School Age Group: January 27, 2018 (RSVP by January 23)
Structured social time for children kindergarten to age 12 on the autism spectrum and support for parents. Winter-themed indoor games, snacks and art. Children are supported and encouraged by LGS’s art therapist, LGS staff and ASGC volunteers.

The Other “A” Word: Anxiety & Autism Spectrum Disorders: January 17, 2018
Free two-hour session will discuss symptoms of anxiety commonly experienced by individuals with ASD/DD, practical strategies to address these symptoms, and structured programs used to manage anxiety.
